Tom-Leis writer Brandon Kinney’s song, “Daddies and Daughters,” will be featured on Kevin Fowler’s new album entitled ‘Chippin’ Away.’
“Daddies and Daughters” is the product of Kinney, Fowler, and Trent Willmon, who all have daughters of their own. It is a sentimental and refreshing addition to the hard-hitting attitude of the rest of the album.
The album is set to be released Tuesday, August 9, 2011.
The “Singles Only” Music Row Plugger group is hosting a show next week at Winners in Midtown, Nashville, to showcase the talents of some writers they represent. Also coming up: Brandon Kinney, Chris Janson and Keith Stegall at Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant in Franklin, TN. Saturday, July 23.

When the schedule denotes that performances will be “at the southernmost beach” or the “the tiki bar during happy hour,” you know this is no ordinary songwriter’s festival.
The Key West Songwriter’s Festival has been going 16 years strong thanks to its renowned not only for such inviting performance venues but for its draw of amazing, world-class songwriting talent. This unique industry gathering is a highly anticipated annual event offering the chance to network and connect in an incredible setting. Soaking up music and sun simultaneously “ain’t such a bad gig” as they say.
This year, the Tom-Leis Music crew was well represented. Sarah Buxton took the stage twice during the event, sharing rounds with legends like Chuck Cannon and Raul Malo. Amanda Flynn shared her original tunes at the “bar during happy hour,” and Kimberly June played a show and enjoyed a signing party to officially welcome her into the TLM fold. (Brandon Kinney opted to hold down the fort on Music Row, as he was anxiously expecting the arrival of a baby boy who was born just days after the festival wrapped.) Creative Director Leslie DiPiero and plugger Penny Lou Everhard were on hand to blend business and sunbathing, as well.
All told, the Tom-Leis Music team had a phenomenal journey to Key West, making new connections, getting reacquainted with old friends and enjoying the chance to get all those songwriters together in the same “key.”
